Or coffee and cake. Whatever floats your boat.
This Friday, the 27th September, our pre-school are joining in with the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning (in the afternoon).
We are inviting all our parents, and people from the local community, to come and join us for a cuppa and a piece of delicious cake (or two) to help raise money for Macmillan.
I’ve also instigated a toy swap, and a children’s book sale, to help raise a bit more cash, and gradually indoctrinate everyone into my Make Do and Mend ways..!!
There are more than 2 million people in the UK living with cancer.
1 in 3 of us will get cancer at some point in our lives.
There can’t really be many people who are unaffected by cancer-whether personally, or through friends and family.
The work that Macmillan do provides much needed support, not only to those with cancer, but also to their loved ones.
This is from the Macmillan website:
“When you’re facing the toughest fight of your life, you need a team of inspiring people in your corner with you.
That’s who we are.
We provide medical, emotional, practical and financial support and we push for a better cancer care system.
We’re the team that gives you the strength and energy to face the fight and get through it.”
There are coffee mornings (and afternoons) happening all over the country, there is bound to be one near you, so do have a look and go along and grab some cake and help raise a bit of money for a hugely worthwhile cause.
If there isn’t one near you, it’s not too late to organise one-grab some friends, make some cake, drink tea, and pass round a plate for donations at the end.
Here are some tips from Macmillan to help you.
And here are some links to some recipes from me!
