The kindness of strangers

I just wanted to say how lovely people are!

Since starting this project, the postman has bought me some lovely parcels, and not one of them has come from a mail order company, they have all come from complete strangers who I have never met before in my life.

This is what I have had in the post since September:

I was VERY kindly sent a secondhand proving basket, and a scraper from the lovely people at Brook Foods when I asked on Twitter if anyone knew where to get secondhand ones!

A vintage Bakelite darning mushroom and some gorgeous vintage haberdashery, sent by on of the listeners to BBC Radio Wiltshire

This lovely book "Crochet Workshop" from the lovely 'KiwiJo' of guest posting fame!

Some wool, from a lovely lady called Susan, who very kindly responded to my appeal for wool for crocheting!!

Some more wool, and all sorts of goodies, (including a cheeky bar of Dairy Milk!) from another lovely lady called Donna on Twitter!

And Morwhenna from the Love What You Wear Project sent me some crocheting patterns she found in a charity shop, but I am ashamed to say they are currently Missing In Action in the void that is the study/sewing room, so I can’t take a picture. Sorry Morwhenna-I am mortified-seems very ungrateful! The study is next on the list for tidying 🙂

All of these people sent me these things with no ulterior motive, and purely out of the kindness of their hearts, and wanting the things to be used.

I said it at the start of the post, but I am going to say it again.

Aren’t people lovely!

  1. People are indeed lovely. I look forward to reading your posts and am inspired by your thoughtful efforts to “make do and mend”.

Best wishes for your continued success from a reader in sunny and Spring-like Orlando, Florida, USA.
